What will we learn?

Learn how to film and edit professionally.

In this masterclass, I propose to teach you all the secrets behind high-quality audiovisual production. We will learn:

Module 1: Audiovisual Theory and Photography

  • Introduction to audiovisual production and its different stages: pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Types of cameras and their characteristics: DSLR cameras, cinema cameras, video cameras, action cameras, among others.
  • Key elements of visual composition: framing, focus, depth of field, camera movement, among others.
  • Basic concepts of photography: exposure, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.
  • Types of lenses and their uses: wide-angle, standard, telephoto, macro, among others.
  • Photographic composition: rule of thirds, symmetry, asymmetry, white balance, among others.
  • Importance of sound in audiovisual production: types of microphones, direct sound recording, sound design, and sound post-production.
  • Introduction to the film crew and their roles: director, cinematographer, sound technician, camera assistant, among others.

Module 2: Filming Practice.

  • Introduction to the film crew and their roles: director, cinematographer, sound technician, camera assistant, among others.
  • Camera setup for shooting: exposure settings, white balance, focus, recording format, among others.
  • Team filming practice, where the concepts seen in Module 1 will be applied: visual composition, focus, depth of field, camera movement, among others.
  • Evaluation of the filmed material and feedback on the successes and areas for improvement in the filming practice.

Module 3: Editing Theory

  • Introduction to video editing and its different stages: footage selection, editing, color correction, and sound post-production.
  • Montage planning and material organization: identifying the best shots and selecting the appropriate footage for the production objective.
  • Video editing for social media: appropriate duration, formats, resolution, and aspect ratio.
  • Editing styles for social media: storytelling, interviews, mini-documentaries, animation, among others.
  • Tips to improve editing: editing pace, use of subtle transitions and special effects, selection of music, and design of titles and subtitles.
  • Introduction to Premiere Pro

Module 4: Practical Training in Premiere

  • Introduction to Adobe Premiere software: main features, user interface, and editing tools.
  • Importing footage: supported file formats, organizing and labeling media in the media library.
  • Video editing: techniques and tools for making cuts, adding transitions, effects, titles, and subtitles, as well as syncing sound and image.
  • Audio editing: techniques and tools for cleaning and enhancing sound, adding sound effects, music, and voice-over.
  • Color correction: techniques and tools to enhance the visual appearance of the footage, balance light and color, adjust saturation and contrast.
  • Exporting footage: export options, file formats, and settings for different platforms and devices.
  • Team practice: editing footage recorded during the filming practice in Module 2 and applying the concepts learned in Module 3. Half of the students will edit the material with a specific focus and style, while the other half will edit the same material to achieve a different message.
  • Evaluation of the work done and feedback on the successes and areas for improvement in the practice of editing in Adobe Premiere.

Ten years ago, I attended a workshop on After Effects taught by Professor Tato Moreno, and that day marked a turning point in my life. Today, I want to give people the opportunity to have that same experience, combined with my other passion: traveling.

Do I need to have a professional camera to attend the course?

While you're welcome to bring your own camera, we will be doing a hands-on practice together using my own cameras, so it won't be necessary for you to bring your camera.

Should I bring my laptop?

Yes, it is essential that you bring your own laptop with Premiere Pro 2023 installed to attend the workshop. If you need assistance with the installation, please let me know and I will help you with it!

Once the payment is confirmed, I will contact you to provide you with the details of the location where the masterclass will be held.

Do I need to have any prior knowledge to attend the workshop?

This workshop is designed for anyone to attend, especially if you have no prior knowledge. We will start from the basics and gradually teach more complex concepts. All you need is a passion for audiovisual content and a willingness to learn!
